Swedish kitchen specialist Ballingslöv International is the new owner of DANKÜCHEN
RE Deal Advisory successfully arranged the sale of DAN Küchen to Ballingslöv and advised the owner family on the sale.
Ballingslöv International is expanding and relies on the know-how of DAN Küchen, the number 1 in the Austrian kitchen market in terms of sales. As a result of the acquisition, management expects further growth in the Central European kitchen market. DANKÜCHEN is expected to play a pioneering role.
The family-owned company DANKÜCHEN will become a subsidiary of Ballingslöv International, which is not yet active in Austria, subject to the approval of the relevant antitrust authorities. DANKÜCHEN will remain an independent company and will have a strong international owner. The production facilities in Upper Austria will be maintained and expanded in the future. Björn Hauber (Managing Director of Ballingslöv International) will take over the operational business after the complete takeover. The purchase price was not disclosed.
DANKÜCHEN is the leading kitchen manufacturer in Austria. The family-owned company generated sales of approximately EUR 120 million last year with approximately 450 employees. Ballingslöv International is one of the largest kitchen furniture manufacturers in Europe with brands such as Ballingslöv, Kvik, JKE Design, Drømmekjøkkenet, Multiform, Paula Rosa Manhattan and worktop manufacturer DFI-Geisler. The company currently employs around 1,300 people and had a turnover of approximately EUR 480 million in the last financial year.
Stena Group. Ballingslöv International is part of the financially strong family-owned Stena Group. The group has a turnover of approximately 5 billion euros and employs approximately 17,000 people. Since 2010, Ballingslöv International has been a wholly owned subsidiary of Stena Adactum, the investment company of the Stena Group.
DANKÜCHEN in good hands.
The previous owner, the private foundation HANMAN, sees the company in good hands with the future ownership and the future of the employees secured. “We have had a friendly relationship with Ballingslöv International and the Olsson family – the owners of the Stena Group – for a long time,” says DANKÜCHEN’s supervisory board member Robert Ehrenhöfer. “We weren’t looking for a financial investor, but for a family business as a partner that would continue to run DANKÜCHEN in our interests and share the same values as we do. We have found this partner in Ballingslöv International.
